How she got in F(x)-
Amber, 18, was selected from a global audition held in 2007. According to the agency, she has received various forms of training like rapping, learning Korean, dance in Korea since the beginning of 2008.
Biography-
amber,"I was born on September 18, 1992. My hometown is Los Angeles in the United States and I have an older sister. SM Entertainment’s 2007 global audition was where I was cast for the agency. I had originally auditioned with a Korean friend but she didn’t make it. M.C. Max’s “Oh Heart, Please Stop Now” and K.Will’s “Left Heart” are the songs I sang at the audition. I read and wrote a little bit of Korean before but I studied the lyrics more from some fan sites where they had translations so I could understand the songs better.
I had liked Linkin Park since young so I copied Mike Shinoda a lot and I had a lot of friends who liked to rap so I grew up practicing free-styling. When I first heard Korean music I used to listen to a lot of R&B like Wheesung’s. These days I listen to Yoon Mirae, Tiger JK and Epik High. I’ve never talked to Yoon Mirae before but I’m a big fan.
When I first came to Korea from the U.S. I felt like a complete stranger because the environment was completely different. I used to space out thinking ‘Why am I here?’ But Krystal helped me out a lot since her English is good and I gradually learned more Korean. Luna taught me how to sing and dance and Sulli, I got really really close with her, as if she’s my younger brother. Haha. (Sulli: Amber Oppa!) But my boyish image was something I wasn’t aware of. In the States I was… just normal. I was shocked when while I was a trainee, I went shopping with Krystal and her fans said they thought I was her boyfriend. But I have a lot of female fans and I am so thankful to them for liking me so much. I didn’t know they would be okay with someone with an image like mine.
Looking similar to Super Junior member Dong-hae is something I’ve heard frequently ever since I got here. These days people also say I look a lot like SHINee’s Jonghyun. Haha. So the three of us sometimes take photos together and call ourselves the “dinosaur family”.
Basketball in particular is something I really enjoy. I’d been on a basketball team since elementary school in the U.S. and I played basketball a lot with my girl friends too. I’m actually not that good at it (Sulli: No, you’re really good!) but in Korea, I’ve been playing with the male trainees at our agency. I like taekwondo too so I practice my moves when I get bored.
Creating a stage where there are no restrictions is my dream. And it doesn’t even have to be on a real stage, a street is fine. Just as long as it’s a place where everyone can join in and have fun!"

Amber was cast from SM Entertainment's Los Angeles global audition in 2007, where she and one male was selected to be a trainee for SM. After a year of training, she debuted under the new girl group f(x) in September 2009, labeled as "Asia's Pop Dance Group".[1] On September 1, 2009, f(x)'s first single "La Cha Ta"[2] (stylized as "LA chA TA") was digitally released. They debuted on September 2 at their very own showcase event held at the Samseong-dong Fashion Center.[3] The group's first broadcast performance of "La Cha Ta" was held at MBC's music show Show! Music Core on September 5, 2009. Months after, they released their first single album Chu~♡, consisting of 3 songs. On May 4, 2010, they finally released their first mini album Nu ABO.
Relationship With Other Idols-
Amber is known to be friends with quite a few idols, including: KARA's Nicole, 2NE1's Minzy, B2ST's Lee Gi Kwang, 4Minute, ex-UKISS member Alexander Lee Eusebio, and also fellow label mates Donghae, Jonghyun (the three formed a group called The Dino Siblings), Key and Henry Lau. Dalmatian's Daniel recently revealed that Amber is one of his best friends. Label mate Girls' Generation had their first concert Into The New World on December 19 and 20, 2009 in Seoul. One of its members, Yuri, performed a cover of Ciara's song "1, 2 step" and featured Amber as a rapper and dancer. On June 2010, SM Entertainment released Taiwanese singer and actor Danson Tang's new music video called "I'm Back",[4] which features Amber doing the rap part in both English and Korean, which was released in his third studio album The First Second.

Examination Day #4 (Not really but Partyy)
Ohkayyy. This entry is for last night, Three day's ago I borke my record of watching Sucker Punch at night ( So sad ) yeahh, I hate my dad for that he took my remote with him. Then in Thursday like I said was the math exam and it was hell. Most of the people didn't really get it from both section A and B thennnn after the test ( Thank Kami!) I went home and used my laptop ti'll 10 (Cerfew).
And now for yesterday, Out of all the days Friday was the best. All we had to do is Clean our chairs then Clearance thennn PARTYYY (WHOOT!!) yeah I was mostly in the other section playing Rock Band with Mac; Clive; George; SIR.RYAN; Trisha; Robin; Shaun (Since he does own the Xbox) and Paolo. I so owned them they didn't believe me that there was an Orianthi song until Shaun told them there was (HA! Rob I told ya so!) but before that we played Chubbie Bunny lol I sucked. and after the party Mac; Kitcat; Tanya; Khristin and I had our own little water fight with the girls winning since Mac was outn umbered. and the last thing we did before I left was talk about Las Piratas (Mac really wants to be in) and Mac and I were thinking of making out own little story, His idea: something like Princess Protection Program but they don't stay in the same place for a week and its family not just Princesses :P
